Boulders baby!

My sister, Brandy, complains that I do not blog enough. Of course she doesn't have 2 children small enough to still need their butts whipped from time to time and boogers removed from their noses. I will blog when I have the time, like now at work since we are beyond slow.

This past Sunday, we had my daughters ears pierced while we were out browsing for a new car. She did great! I honestly thought she would throw a fit and refuse to have the 2ND one done... she has the quite the attitude for only being a couple days shy of 9 months, but she did awesome and she is even more cuter [is that a word?] than ever, which I never thought was possible. Her daddy says she doesn't have rocks in her ears, that she has boulders! They kinda do look big on her in person, but in pictures they look nice and small.

See for yourself:

Speaking of how cute she is... we were at my dad's house on Thursday and my son, who is 5, was telling my sister Brandy, that he used to be cute when he was a little baby... but *dramatic pause* he got weird. Seriously funny stuff! Ask Brandy about him wanting a soda from Sonic. LOL! Kids really do say the darnedest things. He is 5 going on 18 and knows it all. He has the best memory to be so young too. He likes those memory card games and can give me directions to someones house we have been to. Remembers things from when he was younger than 2 and things he hears. It is amazing.

The school sent me a letter home saying they are concerned about him being over weight. He is 48 lbs and around 4 ft tall. You can seriously see his ribcage, so how they have him as being over weight I have no idea. He is super tall for his age and his weight is distributed like it should be. But, if they were to see my beefy girl... they would say she was headed for obesity. She is almost 9 months, 19.5 lbs, and 29 inches long. Big girl!

One last thing, before I forget. That lovely sister of mine was participating in Theme Week with a few of her bloggy buddies. She used me for her What The __ ? Wednesday. She thought she was funny... but now it's her turn [:

More to come...

Inspiration

My eldest sister, Brandy, is my reason for resurrecting my writing. As I type this she is trying to walk me through editing things and what not... and boy oh boy am I way out of the loop!

Good thing I have just about 8 hours ahead of me to do nothing at work. Time to read up on tutorials.

.3gp Format

.3GP... 3rd generation platform/phone. That is the format of most videos from cellular phones. I have a Razor v3m and was not able to play videos with sound for the longest time. I tried converting and different players, yet it never occurred to me to try QuickTime. Well, for whatever reason I had downloaded it a couple months back, just transferred a video from my phone in hopes of having it play because I didn't need the sound this time and the default player is, QuickTime. So surprised!

The video I wanted to show was of the snow, because I oh so love it! I really do not want to drive in the morning after the incident I had today. I need to move some where that does not have snowy days.

This is what I see on the security camera at work, about 20 minutes ago.

And because I figured out how to play these videos now and Blogger allows .3GP uploads, here are couple other videos off of my cell.

Those were taken on May 25, 2008. We were at the club and these 2 guys were glow sticking. Awesome stuff!

Slick!

As the previous post stated, I do not like the snow at all.

This is why...

That's my car, on 3 wheels over an embankment on the side of the river. Five feet in front of me on the left is my street. I was braking to turn left, I slid and that was the end result. I panicked called the police. They arrived and helped me out of the car. Fire Department showed up to direct traffic and a wrecker was called.

Now, remember 5 feet in front of me is my street. I am literally a minute from my home. The wrecker, pulled my car out and the man told me in order to get my car back, I would need to provide $145. If I did not have it then, which I did not, then he was taking my vehicle to his shop and I could pick it up there. So, not only did I end up walking up the hill home, I had to find a way to get my car.

I got it out. Thanks to my sister and her husband. The wrecker company employees were rude. When my brother in law was trying to figure out how much it was, they basically were beating around the bush stating that it was a contract they have with the police department for a flat rate fee. Highway robbery!

Night Shift

I have a couple more hours of work.

It is 4 am, and needless to say I am getting drowsy. We had a bit of a busy day. Attended my children's cousins birthday party. She turned 7... kids running wild. We went and picked up the dryer vent thingamajiger. I honestly can not remember what it is called. Went out to eat by request of DJ. He wanted noodles and trees... which is Chinese noodles and broccoli. Plus, I needed to eat something before I came into work.

I work the graveyard shift so Josh is able to work during the day and one of us is always at home with the kids. I wouldn't say I hate working, but I do hate being away from my children. At least this way they are not with some stranger or in a facility. Although, day care center may be an option later on once my classes start.

The days I work 3rd shift consists of exactly this. I spend the majority of the time on my laptop doing whatever. A person can only do so much online. I watch movies, I read blogs, I edit photographs... but I am burned out. I am bored. I even went outside and walked around in the snow for a little bit.

Speaking of snow... this is our first snow of the year. There is a light dusting on the ground, and it has been consistently flurrying since I came into work at 11. I dread driving home in it. I wrecked my first car into a couple of guard rails due to snow covered roads... I'm still a little traumatized.

My son will be happy to wake up and see the snow. He thinks snow and thinks of Santa Clause. He once said "I wish it was Christmas every day!" And when I told him that Santa and his elves need to work on making new toys, he proceeded to tell me that Wal-Mart had toys. Such a character!

Well, I smell the coffee brewing. I normally don't drink it, but tonight is an exception. My grandmother used to put the stuff in my bottle... now I have to force myself to swallow it.

Introduction

I said I wasn't going to start a blog.

I said that I wouldn't get wrapped into this again being as how I used to dedicate so much time to my LiveJournal a long time ago.

I drank the water...

So, I guess I should start out with the typical thing. My name is Samantha. I am a twenty something year old mother of 2 beautiful children and a very stubborn boyfriend that I have been with for nearly half a decade. We live in good ole' Virginia, born and raised. I have a small family, 2 older sisters, my dad and stepmother and an aunt. I also have 3 nephews, 1 niece and a great-niece. That is the background in a nutshell, but as a disclaimer, I am very moody, very opinionated, and very crazy. Don't say you weren't warned.

I used to write a lot in my teenage years. It was a way of releasing stress, very therapeutic. If it helped then, would it help now? We shall find out sooner or later won't we?

This is myself and Joshua, my other half. Please note I said other and not better. Lol [: We have been together for roughly 5 years. Through thick and thin, good and bad. We have a lot of growing up to do. It's either now or never. He is not my son's biological father, yet he is his daddy. We have a daughter together also. He has my heart and I love him more than he will ever believe me about.

This is my son, Damien Jakob. We all call him DJ. He is 5 years old and my little terror. He has such a bright mind and is so smart. I can not believe it has been 5 years since he was born. I remember his pregnancy and delivery like it was yesterday. He really is my little man. He was born weighing in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Needless to say the height hasn't changed a bit. He is super tall and super thin, but will eat just about anything. Unless of course he is occupied then it is always "I'm not hungry, just thirsty!"

This is my daughter, Joelle Raelynn [pronounced JOE-L and RAY-LEN, wouldn't believe how many people get that wrong]. We all call her Joey though. She is 8 months old and my little princess. Her smile really does light up any room and her giggles will make you giggle with her! She is trying to crawl and babbles nonstop. She can say a few words and has 3 teeth. Her papa named her Beefy when she was born, and she does live up to that name... loves to eat. She weighed 8 lbs 15 oz and 20 1/2 inches long... and voila! Beefy was born.

And together, my son and my daughter, make one boy and one girl.
